Jupiter has two teeth. He is incredibly alert, making eye contact in a way that makes him seem like much older person. He grabs everything he can reach and shoves it into his mouth. He squeals with delight. He hangs on when I carry him and looks all around when we walk. He blows raspberries and shouts, both in excitement and frustration. As of last week, he sits by himself. He reaches after the cat when he passes by. He takes fairly reliable naps and sleeps better at night. He has a favorite lovey and a couple of favorite toys. He works all the gadgets and whirleygigs on his exersaucer. He has taken his first ride in a bucket swing at the park. And that smile. Oh it melts me.
Here he is last week in his soon-to-be-too-small Bumbo seat.

Here he is in the bath. He loves the bath. He adores sucking on a wet washcloth and kicking and kicking and splashing and splashing. He was reaching for the camera. He would eat the camera if he could.

And here he is trying to eat a giant yellow ladle. He is hilarious.
As my sister has told me in the past... when they are about 6-8 months, you start to forget those early sleepless nights and you just relish how adorable they have become... and you start to think "I think I could do it again!..." He is just adorable. Congrats on making it through those early months! It is quite a rite of passage.
