I have finished making a very interesting pair of booties for one very cute, very little girl. It's not easy to tell from the photo, but these booties pretty much rock. You can check my previous post for the pattern - it's easy, but takes a little longer than conventional sock-like booties. These are adorable but different - the heel kind of points backwards, like the end of an elf shoe, and the ribbon tie in the front is more than just decorative. Form meets function, kids.

Next project: learn how to use the sewing machine. My mom gave me a sewing machine for my birthday this year - I had been wanting one for quite some time. This despite the fact that I really don't know the first thing about how they operate. I think I should host a sewing-machine party so I can learn in the company of other lady-friends. Yes?
UM, YES.
ReplyDeleteI tried going to the free lessons where I bought my machine - supposedly a group lesson, but I got all the private attention I could use. But I have not yet been back (it's in Fayetteville) because I think what we need to do is sit down with the instructions and just try stuff. Even if you don't end up with the most efficient technique, it works. Kay
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Wow, Jackie.
